In no particular order, musicians, vendors, sponsors, all those who volunteered, EVERYONE who had any kind of a hand in setting this up, and particularly to YOU, the folks who sat in the sun and supported us.

We do this because of you, and couldn't do it with out you!

Here are the highlights from this years Cheese Roll!

The Maine Celtic Celebration is a family-friendly weekend that celebrates the rich culture and heritage of the Celtic nations, including Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Brittany, Cornwall, Isle of Man and Galicia.

The 2024 Celebration will be our 18th Annual event. New this year is the Celtic Nations Exhibit that is accessible at The Boathouse all weekend. You'll also find old favorites such as the Cheese Roll Championship, Heavy Games, Celtic Dog Show and lots of music! There are seisiúns each day in which musicians familiar with Trad Irish and Celtic tunes and songs are welcomed to sit in and play and/or sing.

The event is planned and run by volunteers who work tirelessly to provide the best in entertainment. We rely upon sponsors, grants and donors to raise the $40K+ needed each year to provide the quality entertainment and experiences that you've come to expect.

The majority of our budget comes from donations from the local community.  We ask for a $15 suggested donation to be paid upon entry to the park to help us cover the costs of the show – 3 full days of music and events.

A Special word of thanks.

Whitecap Builders and Viking Lumber

We want to extend a sincere thanks to two very special local businesses who have made an important contribution to the future of The Maine Celtic Celebration. After more than 10 years of assembly and disassembly along with at least two mini-hurricanes, our main stage is in dire need of replacement. Dann Waldron of Whitecap Builders has taken the lead to build a new stage this year by donating all the labor for construction. In addition, the Flanagan family of Viking Lumber will donate all the lumber for the new stage. Together, these two businesses have contributed over $5000 in value to the future of The Maine Celtic Celebration, showing their genuine commitment to the local community.
